Sweeny Announcements

  • Car Line Sign Required

Please ensure that you have a car line sign.  If you do not have a car line sign we will ask that you pull around to the office, show identification and obtain a car line sign.  Remember, please do not arrive in the car line until 3:15 p.m.  The city police are very concerned about the amount of traffic backing up into Main Street.  If there were a need to get emergency vehicles through that congested traffic it would be very difficult.

District Announcements

  • FREE Flu Vaccine Clinic Date Change to October 19 & 20 Due to Flu Mist Shortage

The Republic School District just received some unfortunate news from the manufacturer providing vaccinations regarding our free flu vaccination clinic scheduled for next week. They reported that there is a large shortage of the flu mist vaccination. Therefore, we will only be able to administer the actual flu shot at our clinic. Due to the vast amount of communication and logistical changes that must take place, we are moving our clinic to October 19 and 20 using the schedule below.

    Monday, October 19:

McCulloch, Price and Schofield: 1:00-4:00 p.m.

    High School: 8:30-10:00 a.m.

    Middle School: 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

    Tuesday, October 20:

    Lyon and Sweeny: 9:30-11:30 a.m.

    Early Childhood Center: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The large majority of students who elected to participate in this clinic selected to receive the flu mist. Therefore, school personnel will be calling those families to ask them directly if they would or would not like to receive the flu shot instead. Those calls will come between now and the end of the day Wednesday, October 14. If you do not receive a call by this time and your child turned in a consent form, please contact your school nurse. Any further action needed for consent will be communicated to you by the school personnel who contacts you.

For those families who originally elected to receive the flu shot, no additional contact will be made. Just take note of the clinic date changes.

We apologize for this inconvenience, but we are committed to continue providing this opportunity for our families despite this obstacle. If you have questions, please contact your student’s school nurse.
