MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL :
If your student needs to take medicine at school, the nurse needs to have a written parental consent form on file in the nurse's office.  The medicine must be in the original container or box; a prescription medicine must have the appropriate label on it. The medicine must be age appropriate. Students are not allowed to carry any medication (even cough drops) on the bus or to school. A parent needs to bring the medicine into the nurse and sign appropriate forms for the student to be able to take the medicine at school. DO NOT SEND ANY MEDICINE WITH A CHILD!! DO NOT SEND ANY PILLS, COUGH DROPS, OR MEDICINE IN A BAGGIE OR ENVELOPE TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR CHILD!!

WAYS TO STAY HEALTHY AND PROMOTE A GOOD LEARNING ENVIROMENT AT E-2:

1.  Good hand washing is very important!  Reinforce the proper way to wash hands using soap and warm water and while washing have them sing the Happy Birthday song to themselves. Explain to wash their hands, after sneezing or coughing, after using the bathroom, after coming in from outside and playing with animals.

2.  Teach your child to cover their mouth with their hands, tissue, or the crook of their arm when sneezing or coughting to prevent the spread of germs.

3.  Explain to your child to not share food, drinks, or eating utensils at school.

4.  Encourage your child to bring their own water bottle to use, and if they use the water fountain explain the improtance of not putting their mouth on the fountain spout.

5.  Good hygiene and brushing teeth is also another key factor in keeping healthy.

6.  Eating healthy foods, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep helps build a immune system and fight off diseases and infection.

 Illness Policy:

1.  Do not send your child to school if they have a fever of 100.2 or above in the last 24 hours, vomiting, diarrhea, unexplained rash, pink or draining eyes.

2.  If the nurse sends your child home please do not send your child back to school until fever is below 100.2 without Tylenol or Motrin, no vomiting, diarreah for 24 hour. To help the other students and staff healthy and to prevent your child from gettting weaker and difficult to fight off the illness or infection.

We still have frequent accidents at E-2 ( cafeteria, recess, and bathroom). I do have some changes of clothing but my supplies are decreasing.  If your child borrowed some clothing, please return them laundered as soon as possible.
