COLD AND FLU SEASON IS HERE!!!

Please remind your teenager of these tips to stay healthy:

1.  cover coughs/sneezes with the crook of their arm
2.  wash hands often... especially before and after eating, after using bathroom, after blowing nose
3.  get plenty of rest every night...teenage bodies are still growing and need 8 to 10 hours of sleep at night to help support a healthy immune system
4.  lay off the junk food...a little is okay but be sure your teenager is eating fruits and vegetables every day

MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL

Parents/guardians:  For the safety of all students, please adhere to the medication policy you were given at the beginning of the school year.  The following is a highlight of that document:

Parents, please remember that prescription and non-prescription medicine to be taken by a student during the school day MUST be delivered to the school by a parent or guardian in its original container with the label on it.  CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CARRY ANY MEDICATION ON THE BUS OR IN THEIR BACKPACKS (except pre-approved inhalers).

When you get a prescription filled, ask the pharmacist to make an extra container with the label on it for the school nurse.  The parent or guardian MUST sign a written request for the school nurse to give the medicine.  MEDICATION WILL NOT BE SENT HOME WITH STUDENTS.
