Class of 2032, we are very excited to welcome you to our building family for the 2019-2020 school year. I am writing to remind you about Kindergarten Orientation on May 2, 2019 from 6-7 p.m. This is an evening event that provides an opportunity for students and families to see the school building, meet teachers and ask questions pertaining to the school year! While your students are participating in activities throughout the building, families will gather together to meet faculty and learn what kindergarten is all about! Should you have questions feel free to contact our office at 732-3670. We can't wait to see you on May 1st!
This is a 5K/1 mile fun run for the community. Sweeny will receive a portion of the profit from all runners who select "Sweeny" on the registration form. We will have LOTS of staff participating that day so we would LOVE to have your child participate in the ROAR Run with us.
We will be celebrating the completion of the MAP test as well as all of our learning this school year. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please call the school office.
Teacher Appreciation Week is a great time for students to show their appreciation for our amazing team!
State assessments begin April 22 and run through May 3 for the Republic School District. Students in grades 3-8 will be participating in the MAP Grade-Level Assessments, and high school students will take End-of-Course (EOC) assessments. A more detailed schedule will be coming from your child's school closer to the testing window opening. We encourage families to avoid scheduling appointments during this time frame. We appreciate your continued partnership in your child's education!

Over the last few years our community has experienced many changes in regards to where people are living within our school district. That said, this has created disparity regarding the number of students in each of our elementary buildings. To best meet the needs of our students and to help us achieve our mission of "preparing each student for a successful future", it is important that each of our elementary buildings have similar numbers of students being served in them. We've been monitoring these changes, and brainstorming ways to address this disparity over the last several months. In doing so, it has been determined that the best solution will be to update the elementary boundaries which will be implemented for the 2019-20 school year. Visit https://www.republicschools.org/boundaryupdate for additional information. Impacted families will be notified via mailed letter and email the week of February 25.
This is a great tool that allows you to see grade information, meal service balances and to ensure contact information is correct. Speaking of this, please login to the Parent Portal and make sure the address, email and phone numbers we have on file for you are correct. You can find this information under the “Update Household Data” icon. Any changes you submit will be sent to your child's building office for final approval. Having updated contact information helps us to be able to communicate with families throughout the school year, and it also helps us determine correct busing routes.
