Future Teachers of America was founded by the National Education Association in 1937 as an organization “designed to interest the most promising young people in teaching as a career.”
Guiding future generations is a noble art which contributes to shared ideals we may hope for in the world: that kindness should triumph, that those who have gone before us would be honored by our lives.
FTA participates in school and community service projects as well as fundraising for RHS student scholarships. In addition, members may be eligible for job shadowing appointments with district teachers. Monthly meetings provide opportunities for student-led colloquia on a variety of topics, including the discussion of methods, historical precedents, and educational philosophies.
Students interested in teaching fields are encouraged to join a group dedicated to all that is gained by a legacy of learning. For more information, please contact Mr. Nelson.
