Welcome to the Republic Early Childhood Center! I am dedicated to ensuring that every child enrolled in the Early Childhood Center receives an outstanding education. The students are my number one priority and I make every decision with students’ best interests in mind. The early childhood years represent a critically important window of opportunity to develop a child’s full potential and shape key academic, social, and cognitive skills that determine a child’s success in school and in life.

I started my teaching career in Republic as part of the Greene County Special Education Cooperative in the fall of 1995. I taught special education at the elementary level for 5 years before moving to Early Childhood. I have held positions as an early childhood special education teacher, process coordinator, and assistant director of student services. I am currently the Director of Early Childhood serving the Preschool (MPP and tuition-based), Early Childhood Special Education, and Parents as Teachers programs.

I graduated from Missouri State University in 1995 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education with a minor in special education. I completed my master of science degree in educational administration from Missouri State University in 2004. I also completed my specialist degree in educational administration-superintendency from Southwest Baptist University in 2010.

Welcome to the Republic Early Childhood Center! I am excited to begin my new role in the fall of 2022 as Assistant Early Childhood Director for Republic Schools. Eighteen of my 20 years in education have been spent within the Republic School System. Prior to my current role, I served as a K-2 literacy specialist and helped develop curriculum work, deliver professional development, and coach classroom teachers. I have also supported young readers and writers as a kindergarten teacher, Reading Recovery teacher, and K-5 literacy coach. My post-graduate degrees include the following areas of specialization: early childhood, reading, and administration. I live in Republic with my husband and best friend of 21 years and two children, Madelyn (17) and Jack (15). In my spare time, I love to read, work in my flower garden, and attend my children's events.
