BETA CHI PIA SCIENCE HONOR SOCIETYRepublic High SchoolStudents acquire membership in Beta Chi Pi by earning points from grades they receive each semester, from participation in and awards received from science contests, from service to the science club, etc. These points are submitted to Mr. Morton each semester.Students must earn a minimum number of points to be granted membership in Beta Chi Pi.One of the rewarding aspects of membership in Beta Chi Pi is that there are different levels of recognition. As a result, one can acknowledge student success several times and students can be challenged to continue to do their very best. There are three levels of membership:Beta or Honors level 300 pointsChi or Cum Laude level 400 pointsPi or Summa Cum Laude level 500 pointsMembership points are awarded as follows:Courses in Science:Semester grades will be awarded points as listed below:

To be eligible for Beta Chi Pi, at least 34 points must come from an honors-level courseActivities & Science Clubs:

(Other activities may be allowed at the discretion of Mr. Lacson)Participant: 25 points / Placing in a competition:additional 25 points (Maximum 50 points per year)In addition to earning an adequate number of points, members of Beta Chi Pi will pay an annual membership of $10, which will go into the Beta Chi Pi Scholarship fund. At the end of every year, senior members of Beta Chi Pi may apply to receive a one-time, Beta Chi Pi Scholarship (amount varies based on membership).Interested students may apply by following the link below, or by speaking with their science teacher.
