Title I provides supplemental educational opportunities for children who are most at risk of failing to meet the State's challenging content and performance standards. In Republic Schools, Title I funds provide Reading Recovery and Literacy Coach support to our five elementary buildings.
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

If a parent/guardian indicates that another language other than English is spoken in the home, a student may be classified as an English Language Learner (ELL). The student will be screened to determine the level of English proficiency. Results from this testing are used to determine what support the ELL specialists may provide to the student.
  • Homeless

The district's homeless liaison works to accurately identify or locate all children/youth that are experiencing homelessness (as defined by McKinney-Vento Act). A homeless individual is one who lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence.
  • SOAR (Gifted Program)

The district is increasing efforts to identify children in the elementary buildings who may qualify to be tested into the Seeking Out Academic Rewards (SOAR) program. Students may also be referred for testing by a parent or teacher.
