We are also excited about providing free breakfast and lunch to ALL students in attendance. Elementary Summer School: Summer SLAM

Once all slots are filled, a waiting list will be created.Teaming Up with SLAM?This year, elementary students will be Teaming Up With SLAM 2019 (Summer Learning and More). This SLAM session will have a sports theme centered around STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) activities. STEAM education encourages kids to ask questions, solve real world problems, think creatively, and be innovative. There are many exciting things happening at SLAM this year! There will be an assembly each week with guest speakers. Each grade level will be attending two field trips! Locations of field trips include bowling at Lighthouse Lanes, playing put-put at Fun Acre, going on a tour of the Missouri Hall of Fame, Drury's O’Reilly Event and Science Center, Hammons Field during Discovery Week, and Republic's Athletic Facility!What's the schedule for Summer SLAM?Summer school for elementary students will begin on May 28th and end on June 21st. School is in session each day, Monday through Friday. Summer SLAM time is 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Doors will open at 7:45 a.m. To ensure a smooth pick-up process, we are asking that adults picking up kindergarten students arrive at 2:40 p.m., park and come in the building to pick up their Kindergarten student and any siblings. Families without kindergarten students can use the car line for pick-up. View maps and additional information on drop off and pick-up below.Who can attend Summer SLAM?SLAM will be available for students entering kindergarten in the fall of 2019 through current 4th graders. Current 5th graders will attend summer school at Republic Middle School (see below). For Summer SLAM, all students will be enrolled in the grade level they will attend for the 2019-2020 school year.Where is Summer SLAM located?SLAM 2018 will be housed in two buildings. Since no transportation is provided during summer school, this will help us ensure a smooth traffic flow process for our community. Lyon and Schofield will be the two sites used. Lyon will house all students who will attend Lyon, Price, and Sweeny for the 2019-20 school year, while Schofield will house all students who will attend Schofield and McCulloch for the 2019-20 school year. If you do not attend the Republic School District, but are joining us for Summer SLAM and are unsure of the location you are to attend, please call 417.732.3690.Is there an opportunity for my child to visit his/her Summer SLAM site before summer school begins?Yes! We will host a come and go style open house on Thursday, May 23 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at both Schofield and Lyon. Students are welcome to bring their school supplies to leave if they'd like. Details are below.Do you have before and after school care available for Summer SLAM?Before and after summer school care is available at both buildings through the STRIPES 360 program. Students attending SLAM that need childcare between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. can be enrolled. 7:45-8:00 a.m.: Students in 2nd-5th grades will eat breakfast
8:00-8:20 a.m.: Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade will eat breakfast with their class
Parents are welcome to eat with their student(s). If joining your child, please stop by the front office to sign in and pay for your meal before heading to the cafeteria. The cost for an adult breakfast is $2.00 and lunch is $3.50. You will need to take your receipt to the cafeteria cashier.How does student drop off and pick-up work?The doors at both Schofield and Lyon will open at 7:45 a.m. Simply follow the below traffic maps to ensure student safety and to help our car lines move as quickly as possible. School employees will be on site to assist. Please keep in mind many students participate in Summer SLAM. We will work hard to get the line moving fast, but we appreciate your patience in advance.
The doors at both Schofield and Lyon will open at 7:45 a.m. Simply follow the below traffic maps that direct you where to let your student(s) out of your vehicle. School employees will be on site to assist.
Each student will be given a name plate. Please make sure the person authorized to pick up your student has this name plate clearly displayed on the dash of the vehicle during pick-up.
Those attending the after school Tiger STRIPES program can be picked up any time after 3:10 p.m. in the building's cafeteria. The program's hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
ALL Kindergarten Families:
All Kindergarten students AND THEIR SIBLINGS will be dismissed at 2:40 p.m. At this time, please plan to park in the front lot of Lyon and on the side of Schofield (per the maps below) then enter the building to pick up your student(s). Lyon students will be in the gym and Schofield students will be in kindergarten classrooms. This is an effort to help improve the efficiency of the car line.
Families Without Kindergarten Students:
Follow the traffic maps below. Dismissal will begin at 3:00 p.m. Please do not arrive to the car line prior to 2:40 p.m. This will help to make sure traffic does not back up on City streets. We appreciate your help with this in advance!
Your pick-up location/time is dependent on the youngest child you will be picking up. Middle School Summer SchoolSoak yourself in knowledge this summer and join us for Summer Splash at RMS! You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge in fun and thrilling summer school classes.Dates are May 28 - June 20, Monday-Friday 7:40 a.m. - 2:40 p.m. at Republic Middle School. Breakfast & lunch are provided for FREE! Transportation is not provided, and the doors open at 7:15 a.m. Students cannot be dropped off before 7:15 a.m. and need to be picked up by 3:00 p.m. As a reminder, incoming 6th-8th graders for the 2019-20 school year will be at RMS for summer school.
The summer school day is divided into 4 class sessions. If you want your child to attend the full day, please select the full day option.
Students enrolled in Tiger Stripes must enroll in all 4 sessions to receive shuttle services.

High School Summer School
Summer school for incoming 2019-20 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students will take place May 28 - June 20, Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Breakfast & lunch are provided for FREE! All academic courses are subject to change, as a class must have a minimum amount of participants before a course can be offered. If a class does not make due to lack of interest, students will be notified and offered an alternative course.
