Mr. Chris Lockmiller, Sweeny Elementary Principal |
This is my 12th year serving the Republic School District and first year as building principal. I have spent four-and-a-half years teaching fourth and fifth grade at Lyon Elementary. I then spent the last seven-and-a-half years as the Assistant Principal at Sweeny. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Missouri State, my Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University, and a Specialist Degree in Education Administration from Missouri State. I have lived in Republic since I was four, and love giving back to the community that gave me so much. My wife, Morgan, and I have a two year old daughter, Ellie. She is full of spunk and definitely keeps us on our toes!
On behalf of the Sweeny Team, I would like to welcome you and your family to Sweeny Elementary! We are honored to have the opportunity to serve you and your children each day. Our goal is to create an educational environment where students and staff are excited about entering our doors each day. We are committed to providing opportunities for learners to excel both academically and as leaders. We look forward to partnering with our students, families, and community members. Each family’s involvement is vital to the success of our students. We are thankful for your time, energy, and support. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day!
Mrs. Claire Whitlock, Sweeny Elementary Assistant Principal |
Hello, Sweeny! My name is Claire Whitlock and I am so thankful to serve as your Assistant Principal. This is my 7th year in education and 6th year in the Republic School District. Prior to becoming Assistant Principal, I was a Special Education Teacher in a Resource Setting serving students in all grade levels. I served in this role for 5 years and also have experience as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant.
I have a Master's Degree in Special Education through Drury University and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration through Missouri State University. When I am not at school, my husband Ben, and I love spending time at the lake with our two kids, William (age 2), and Annie (5 months). I'm so thankful for the opportunity to serve Sweeny and to work with our Sweeny Leaders this year!
