Schofield Elementary's nominee for February's RepMo Hero is Kelly Hobbs. Kelly is the leader of the student leadership team, Schofield Kids Care. This is very fitting because Kelly Hobbs cares a great deal about Schofield kids and families! This group of students has organized many events to help the Republic community and others under Kelly's leadership. A few of these events are Socktober, People Helping People Souper Bowl and Pennies for Patients. In addition to leading Schofield Kids Care, Mrs. Hobbs tutors Schofield students and hosts Books and Braids weekly. Mrs. Hobbs has also been instrumental in creating a foundation for Response to Intervention at Schofield. This important instructional model ensures student proficiency with key academic skills. She has shared this model with other educators by speaking at Star Summit and the Missouri Professional Learning Conference. She and her team have hosted many visitors during early release and RTI that want to learn more about the work that is occurring at their grade level. In addition, Mrs. Hobbs is an engaged member of Schofield's PTO. She plans PTO family events and coordinates PTO fundraisers. Mrs. Hobbs' heart and hustle set her apart! We are thankful to have her as a team member that ensures Schofield kids are safe, happy, healthy and learning!
