Williams and Lockmiller Named Principals for 2022-23

Republic School District is excited to announce the following new building leaders who will start their roles on July 1, 2022: Republic Middle School Principal, Tracy Williams and Sweeny Elementary Principal, Mr. Chris Lockmiller! Please join us in congratulating Mr. Williams and Mr. Lockmiller!

 

MR. TRACY WILLIAMS, RMS PRINCIPAL

williamsThe Republic School District Board of Education is pleased to name Mr. Tracy Williams as principal of Republic Middle School effective July 1, 2022. Mr. Williams comes to us from Hickory Hills K-8 school within Springfield Public Schools where he has served as head principal since 2018. Prior to his work at Hickory Hills, Mr. Williams served as an interim principal at Jeffries Elementary, an assistant principal at Pleasant View School and Explore Summer School Coordinator, all within Springfield Public Schools. Prior to his time in administration, Mr. Williams taught 6th grade science, 9th grade integrated science, health/PE and served as a football and track coach. 

 

Mr. Williams holds degrees in secondary education, education administration and school superintendency. He brings with him a full toolbox of educational and interpersonal resources and skills to help students and staff members continue growing at Republic Middle School. Mr. Williams is known for his collaborative nature, clear communication and commitment to student-centered/people-centered efforts. 

 

 

MR. CHRIS LOCKMILLER, SWEENY PRINCIPAL

LockmillerMr. Chris Lockmiller, who is currently the assistant principal at Sweeny Elementary will be taking the head principal position of the building for next school year. Mr. Lockmiller has served as assistant principal for the last 6.5 years at Sweeny, and was a classroom teacher at Lyon Elementary in various grades the 4.5 years before that. He holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Missouri State University along with a master’s and specialist’s in administration from Lindenwood University and Missouri State University.

 

In his 11 years as an educator Mr. Lockmiller has had a large impact on students and fellow teammates. His top strengths within the StrengthsFinder platform include relator, consistency, harmony, restorative and competition. By definition, this identifies Mr. Lockmiller as a lifelong learner who brings people together to work hard to reach goals. We’ve already seen this in action at Sweeny and look forward to the additional work he will contribute as head principal.
