Assistant Principals Announced for 2022-23 School Year

The Republic School District Board of Education proudly announces the following individuals will serve as assistant principals within our district for the 2022-23 school year!

Claire Whitlock, Sweeny Assistant Principal

Sweeny Elementary will welcome a familiar face in a new place! Claire Whitlock has been selected as the new assistant principal for the 2022-2023 school year! Mrs. Whitlock currently serves as a special education teacher at Price Elementary, a position she has held for the last five years. Mrs. Whitlock also served as a summer SLAM administrative intern last year. Prior to becoming a RepMO Tiger, Claire was a speech language pathologist assistant and a paraprofessional for Nixa Public Schools. She has experience in writing curriculum through serving on the district SPED CDC team, and is also a member of the Price Faculty Lighthouse Team. 

 

Claire values relationships and building a connection with all students, staff and families! She brings a wide knowledge of curriculum and interventions from her role as a special education teacher that will continue to help Sweeny grow.

Miranda Hagin-Schaefer and Shane Pierce, RMS Assistant Principals

RMS will welcome two new assistant principals for next school year. Mrs. Hagin-Schaefer has a full professional toolbox that is sure to positively impact RMS families and employees! For the last two school years she has served as the Coordinator of Site Interventions at Hickory Hills within Springfield Public Schools (SPS). In this role she helped identify student behavior and attendance goals and implement intervention strategies to assist in reaching those goals. In addition, she has served as a summer school principal since 2012 at SPS. Prior to her administrative roles she has taught fifth grade, second grade and first grade. In addition, Mrs. Hagin-Schaefer has participated on various building and district leadership committees. 

 

Mr. Pierce comes to us from Strafford School District where he has served as both the Middle School Assistant Principal and Middle School Head Principal since 2004. We are excited to add Mr. Pierce’s extensive administrative experience to our team! Prior to these administrative roles Mr. Pierce taught 8th grade math in Strafford and middle school technology modules in Topeka, Kansas. Throughout his 23 years in education, Mr. Pierce has also served as a high school softball coach and presently serves as the Stafford High School Head Baseball Coach.  

 

Both of these individuals demonstrate a desire to create strong relationships and continue growing our successful instructional climate at RMS.

Kevin Hauck, RHS Assistant Principal

RHS will also welcome a “familiar face in a new place” to their administrative team. Mr. Kevin Hauck will serve as an assistant principal beginning July 1, 2022! 

 

Mr. Hauck has been with the Republic School District as a high school credit recovery/alternative education teacher since 2015. During this time he has also served as the head boys and girls soccer coach at RHS. Prior to coming to Republic Mr. Hauck served as both a PE teacher and soccer coach within the Carl Junction School District for six years. To fill his professional toolbox he has served on district and building level leadership committees. In addition, Mr. Hauck is a familiar face in the RHS office as he served in an administrative capacity for summer school 2021 and is also a substitute administrator when needed. 

 

Mr. Hauck is a passionate educator who is highly skilled at forming meaningful connections with students. He is dedicated to his craft and will maximize his talents to positively impact our team and community.
