Lyon Principal & Special Education Assistant Director Hired
The following individuals were approved for new roles in our district by the Board of Education at last night's meeting. The full agenda can be found HERE.
Mrs. Erin Wayt, Lyon Elementary Principal
After completing the interview process, the Board of Education has named Mrs. Erin Wayt as the new Lyon Elementary Principal beginning July 1, 2023.
Mrs. Wayt has spent her 12-year career in education with the Republic School District. She’s been the Assistant Principal at Price Elementary since 2016, and before that, she was a classroom teacher for kindergarten and second grade. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, along with a master’s and a specialist degree in Education Administration.
Mrs. Wayt has a heart for serving students, staff and families. She leads the district’s student teacher internship program partnership with Missouri State University and collaborates with many community members through her work with Locker 518 and Price Tag. She and her husband are raising their two daughters as Republic Tigers and are excited to join the Lyon family!
Mrs. Wayt looks forward to building new relationships with the Lyon Elementary school community, focusing her efforts on carrying Lyon’s mission to Lead, Love, Learn!
The Republic School District will begin the search for a new Price Elementary Assistant Principal immediately.
Mrs. Lindsey Lovekamp, Special Education Assistant Director
Mrs. Lindsey Lovekamp was named the Assistant Director of Special Education for Republic Schools starting July 1, 2023!
Mrs. Lovekamp comes to Republic Schools from Project Access, where she is currently the Assistant Director. Project Access is a state-wide support program for school districts, focusing on autism and related developmental disabilities. Additionally, Mrs. Lovekamp has eight years of experience as a Special Education teacher and three years as an Autism Resource Specialist. She understands the importance of implementing evidence-based practices within classrooms, and has experience providing on-site support, trainings and resources to school districts.
Mrs. Lovekamp holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a master’s in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorders. She is currently pursuing a specialist degree in Special Education and Assessment, as well as a master’s in Education, focusing on administration. We are excited for her to share her expertise with our district!
