Academic Tools
Students and educators at McCulloch Elementary are working hard to reach their goals and need your help! Parent involvement is the key to success. Here’s how you can help support your child’s learning:
Keep in touch with your child’s teacher to know what your child is learning and doing. Provide feedback about what you believe is important.
Know the expectations for learning. Take advantage of back-to-school nights and conferences when expectations are typically communicated, and ask questions.
Help your child set short and long term goals and develop action plans. An action plan is a tool that can be used to record tasks that need to be completed in order to reach goals. This includes activities, projects, or chores.
Ask your child his goals and follow his progress. Ask your child about her data folder and discuss practical ways she can meet individual and classroom goals.
Make sure your child can study and learn at home. This includes space to complete work, materials (paper, writing utensils, etc.), access to a computer, and embed study time in your daily schedule.
Ensure that your child is at school! School attendance is crucial to your child’s success.
GOOGLE APPS FOR EDUCATION:
The Republic School District has integrated Google Apps for Education (GAFE) which provides students and teachers the ability to store files and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets and presentations in real time from school or home within a "closed campus" online environment.
