Social Skills, Work Habits & Goal Setting

The Republic School District believes in developing the WHOLE child in order for them to be successful in their future. Attaining knowledge for academic success is truly important, but we believe it is just as important for our students to develop specific dispositions, social skills and work habits.

Developing these social skills and work habits, sometimes referred to as “21st century skills” is integrated into everyday classroom activities from preschool to 12th grade. Some examples include:

  • Time management

  • Goal setting and achievement

  • Responsibility and organization

  • Communication skills (eye contact, listening, using appropriate voice levels)
