Addressing Questions & Concerns
The Republic School District aims to create an environment where all students and their families feel heard. As started in district policy C-120-P, in most cases, any question or concern should first be discussed with the school personnel involved in the issue.
Republic Schools has created the matrix below as a visual guide for families as they seek answers to questions on a variety of topics. We hope this is helpful as we look forward to partnering with all members of our school community to create a successful learning experience for our students. The matrix is also available here.

The Republic School District’s mission is to prepare each student for future excellence through a safe educational environment. As district families and employees interact through written and verbal communication tools to address questions and concerns, all members of a student’s learning team are invited to partner together to create a safe, supportive environment aimed at reaching a positive outcome – the success of the student.
To accomplish this, all members involved in upcoming conversations about a student’s learning will agree to:
Set a goal for our meeting
Assume a shared best interest for the student
Listen to understand and work collaboratively
Share information and perspectives
Focus on action steps and solutions
Be respectful and polite
If verbal, physical or written communication drifts outside of these norms, our meeting will be paused and rescheduled for a time when all members of the student’s learning team can work together in a productive, professional manner. Next steps for communication will be determined by the building principal or designee.
Employees of the Republic School District team look forward to connecting and collaborating with students’ families to accomplish our mission!
