Special Education

The primary purpose of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is to provide children with disabilities the supports and services they need to learn and progress in their school work.  It requires that each child receive a free and appropriate public education (FAPE).  Parents or guardians of children with disabilities participate in many meetings, working alongside school personnel in planning the special education services and supports that the children need.  The resources you will find here can assist you in understanding some of the most important aspects of special education.
