Let's join together in congratulating Sweeny fourth grade teacher, Amy Stevens for being chosen as our February RepMO Hero winner! Amy is an incredible classroom teacher who goes above and beyond to meet the needs of her students, both academically and personally. She is also a teammate her Sweeny colleagues credit for being a great mentor and leader.

Mrs. Stevens will be honored at an upcoming Board of Education meeting, and will receive $500 to be spent on the resources of her choice. She will also receive an additional paid day off.
A compilation of nominations received in regards to Mrs. Stevens from district employees is below:
Sweeny Elementary is proud to recognize Amy Stevens as our February RepMO Hero! Amy is the type of teacher who prioritizes each and every student in her classroom. She consistently goes the extra mile to support her students academically and on a personal level. She has a true talent for seeing the students as individuals and the potential each one has.
Each morning Amy spends intentional time working with small groups or one-on-one with students on specific interventions they may need before the bell rings. She takes the time to think about how to take the upcoming learning and give students the opportunity to apply it in a real-world learning experience.
If there is a professional development course, book, or new idea, Amy is the first to jump in to see how she can better herself for her students. Her impact is felt beyond the four walls of her classroom, as she shares her ideas and learning with others throughout the building and district. Her work makes a difference in the lives of our students and staff. We are so grateful she is on the Sweeny team!
