At a special meeting on May 29, the Republic School District Board of Education approved Coach James Hoffman as Head Coach of the Republic High School baseball program. He will also serve as a Physical Education teacher at RHS.
Coach Hoffman most recently served as Activities Director and Safety Coordinator for the Aurora School District. Prior to that leadership role, he spent 12 seasons as head varsity baseball coach at Aurora High School while also teaching Physical Education.
Coach Hoffman brings a proven record of building successful, culture-driven programs centered on discipline, accountability and team success. Under his leadership, the Aurora baseball program earned its first postseason win in 16 years, advanced to the program’s first Final Four appearance and captured back-to-back MSHSAA Class 4 state championships in 2017 and 2018.
Throughout his coaching career, Coach Hoffman has also developed numerous collegiate athletes, a Major League Baseball draft pick and multiple all-state performers.
Coach Hoffman is already familiar with Republic Schools, previously serving as assistant and JV baseball coach at RHS from 2009-2011.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to lead Tiger baseball,” said Hoffman. “Republic is a special community with tremendous pride and support for its student-athletes. I look forward to building relationships with our players and continuing to develop a program centered on discipline, accountability and team success.”
“Coach Hoffman brings tremendous experience and leadership to our baseball program,” said Trevyor Fisher, Athletics and Activities Director. “He understands the importance of developing student-athletes both on and off the field, and we’re excited for the future of Tiger baseball under his leadership.”
