Republic School District is excited to introduce Behind the Stripes, a new podcast designed to give listeners an inside look at the stories and decisions that shape RepMO schools every day.
Hosted by Superintendent Dr. Tyler Overstreet, the podcast will feature conversations with individuals from across the district. Through authentic conversations and shared experiences, Behind the Stripes aims to make public education more understandable and accessible for the entire community.
"Some of the best stories about our school district happen far, far away from the spotlight and that is why we want to host this podcast," Dr. Overstreet said in an introduction video for the show. "Through conversations with teachers, support staff, administrators and community members, we’ll be able to showcase the stories and the people that make RepMO such a special place."
The first episode features retiring Superintendent Dr. Matt Pearce, who reflects on his 30-year career in public education, including 13 years of leadership in Republic. During the conversation, Dr. Pearce shares some of his most memorable moments and offers advice to Dr. Overstreet as he prepares to lead the district into its next chapter.
Community members are invited to help shape future episodes by submitting topic ideas and questions for consideration through the district's Behind the Stripes Podcast Topic Submission Form.
